Women's Wrestling Competes At The Missouri Valley Open

MARSHALL, Mo.—The Fontbonne University women's wrestling team returned to the mat today at the Missouri Valley Open.

Anastasia Georges competed at 123 and squared off against Taylor McPherson (University of Alberta). McPherson came away with the technical fall victory. On the consolation side, Georges faced Alesandra Burgos (Brewton-Parker College) and Burgos went on for the fall win.

At 155, the Griffins had a pair of wrestlers compete with Abby Love and Riley Coleman. Love fell by fall against India Page (Brewton-Park) in her first match. In her next contest, Love faced Aynslee Hester (Colorado Mesa) with Hester winning by technical fall.

Coleman, meanwhile, opened with a technical fall defeat against Elizabeth Hubbard (Missouri Valley). She went on to face another Viking in Tess Kinne and it was Kinne winning by fall.

Caitlynn Evans competed at 191 and was defeated by fall against Kelani Corbett (Missouri Valley). She faced Cassandra Smith (Campbellsville University) and Smith won by fall.
