Fontbonne Women's Volleyball Releases 2021 Schedule

ST. LOUIS, Mo.—After posting its first conference record above .500 for the first time since 2015, the Fontbonne University women's volleyball team looks to build off its success from a season ago in 2021.
Last year, the Griffins finished the year 8-8 overall and 7-6 in conference play. Head Coach Ryan LeGrand was named SLIAC Co-Coach of the Year and became the third coach in program history to earn the award.
Hannah Gallagher earned SLIAC Newcomer of the Year and was named to the First Team, while Jadyn Fitzgerald also joined Gallagher on First Team.
Gallagher became the third player in program history to win the Newcomer of the Year Award. In her first season, the St. Peters, Mo., native, totaled 189 kills, a .168 hitting percentage, and got it done defensively as well with 172 digs. She totaled seven double-doubles, while ranking fifth in kills and 33rd in hitting percentage.
Fitzgerald was just as outstanding on both sides of the net leading the Griffins and the SLIAC in kills (214) and kills per set (3.75). Defensively, she ended with 155 digs and eight double-doubles. Nationally, she ranked third in kills and 31st in hitting percentage.
This year, the Griffins bring back a good portion of its roster from a season ago including Kelly Herr who finished with 78 kills, Emma Pramik who finished with 256 digs, and Ella Werner after dishing out 276 assists in her freshman season.
Jessica Molden is back looking to build off her 19 service aces, while Jackie Drury looks to make an impact in her second season after totaling 47 kills and a team-high 21 blocks.
The Griffins bring in five newcomers Mia Everette, Jordan Harpel, Kristen Kaempfe, Alexis Lofgren, and Lexi Moore.
Schedule Notes
- The Griffins open its season down the road on Sept. 1st when they'll take on WashU.
- Its home opener will be on Sept. 21st against Harris-Stowe at 7 p.m.
- The Griffins first conference game will be on Sept. 23rd at home against rival Webster.
- The team has 11 home dates this year.
- The regular season finale will take place on November 2nd against Hannibal-LaGrange inside the DSAC.
