Women's Volleyball Sweeps Past Eureka For First Win On Season

ST. LOUIS, Mo.—The Fontbonne University women's volleyball team earned its first win on the season after knocking off Eureka in straight sets.

Set Breakdown

Set 1: In the first, the Red Devils trailed 11-9 on a Fontbonne service error. From there, the Griffins went on an 8-1 run to lead 19-10 on a block assist from Olivia Tallo and Kelly Herr.

The Griffins dominated the rest of the way going on for the 25-14 win on three straight service aces from Emma Pramik.

Set 2: The Griffins opened with a 13-3 lead on block assist from Jadyn Fitzgerald and Jackie Drury. The team never looked back from there with Hannah Gallagher's kill at the end giving them the 25-14 victory.

Set 3: Fontbonne trailed 12-11 on Regan Reed's kill but the Griffins gathered themselves going on a 6-0 run capped off by Jadyn Fitzgerald's kill, including getting three service aces from Rae Andrews during that stretch. The team was able to finish off the Red Devils going on for the 25-20 set and match win.

Head-to-Head

• Fontbonne finished with 41 kills and a season-high .250 hitting percentage.
• The team got it done at the service line with a season-high 17 aces.
• At the net, the Griffins set season-highs in block assists (eight) and total blocks (five).
• Eureka ended with 14 kills and a .014 hitting percentage.

Fontbonne Leaders

• Fitzgerald recorded her third double-double with a game-high 14 kills and 10 digs, to go along with her season-high three block assists.
• Gallagher made it four straight double-doubles with 12 kills, a .400 hitting percentage, and 11 digs. At the service line, she tied Rae Andrews with five service aces.
• Emma Pramik and Jessica Molden each finished with three service aces and Fitzgerald added the other.
• Abby Grumich led with a game-high 19 assists, while Ella Werner added 16.
• Pramik led defensively with a game-high 17 digs.
