Women's soccer team falls to Principia; prepares for SLIAC Tournament

Oct. 30, 2011 - The Fontbonne University women's soccer team lost their regular season finale yesterday 4-1 to Principia College to fall to 7-11 overall and 5-3 in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC).

Despite the loss, the Griffins still qualified for the SLIAC Tournament as the #4 seed. Fontbonne will have a rematch with Principia (the #1 seed) on Thursday night at 7 pm in Elsah, Illinois. The other semifinal will feature #2 seed Webster University against #3 seed Greenville College.

Yesterday, after a scoreless first half, Principia broke through with a four goals in 20 minutes to break the game wide open. Fontbonne senior Kendra Schilli scored the lone goal for the Griffins on a shot from 25 yards out. The goal was Schilli's team-leading 12th of the season.
