St. Louis, MO - The Griffins faced a tough test Wednesday night against the Westminster Blue Jays, ultimately falling 87-53 despite a strong start.
Senior guard Brianna Beamer was a bright spot for the Griffins, contributing 19 points, four rebounds, and four assists, while senior guard and forward Ja'mise Bailey also added 19 points.
"We came out and had a strong start to the game against one of the top teams in our conference. Our shots stopped falling after the first quarter and we struggled to come back after that," reports Head Coach, Michael Fitzgerald.
Today they faced the Greenville Panthers at home, unfortunately falling 63-51. Sophomore guard Piper Fitzgerald led the team with 18 points. Ja'mise Bailey followed with 15 points. Fitzgerald also put her defensive skills on display with four rebounds.
Despite the loss, head coach Michael Fitzgerald praised his team's growth. "Everyone on our roster has come a long way from our first game and are starting to contribute in different ways each night."
The Griffins will hit the road to take on Eureka Wednesday, January 22 at 5:30 PM CST.
