Fontbonne falls to Eureka as season comes to an end

Feb. 27, 2012 - The Fontbonne University women's basketball team's season came to an end this weekend as they lost to Eureka College 63-56 in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) Tournament semifinal. Fontbonne finished the season with a 15-11 record.

After taking a 28-27 lead into halftime, Fontbonne shot just 27 percent from the field and 17 percent from behind the arc in the second half. Eureka shot 43 percent from the floor in the second half to earn the victory.

Fontbonne junior Shelby Ellison, who scored a game-high 20 points, earned SLIAC All-Tournament Team honors.
