Katie Gosser And Bay Set Personal-Best Totals In The Heptathlon

MONTEVALLO, Ala.— The trio of Katie Gosser, Emily Bay, and Colleen Gosser finished out the Heptathlon at the Falcon Finale on Saturday.

K. Gosser closed out in second place with a personal-best 2988 points, while Bay (2684) and C. Gosser (2050) finished in third and fourth.

After taking part in four events yesterday, the Griffins fifth event overall and first on the day was the long jump. Bay led with a leap of 4.15 m for third place. K. Gosser landed at 4.08 m, while C. Gosser rounded out in fifth at 3.69 m.

In the javelin, K. Gosser hit a personal-record of 28.56 m and that was good enough for second place. Bay hit 23.36 m, while C. Gosser hurled a mark of 19.46 m.

The final event for the weekend was the 800-meter run. K. Gosser led once more with a time of 2:52.58. C. Gosser was right behind her at 2.57.28 for third place and Bay timed out at 3:00.27.
