Lawrence and Venegas named SLIAC Field Athletes of the Week

St. Louis, Mo. - Fontbonne swept SLIAC Field Athlete of the Week honors for the week of April 3rd when Austin Lawrence and Raven Venegas earned the awards for their performances at the Hanover Invitational.

Freshman Austin Lawrence recorded a 10-meter personal record in javelin, knocking down the freshman record set back in 2009 as well as Chris Graham's record last year. Lawrence's throw of 36.40m out-distanced Graham's 35.93m

Freshman Raven Venegas broke her own discus record. Her throw of 35.48 placed her seventh at the meet and was a .26m PR. She also placed second in the shot put out of 35 competitors with a throw of 11.61m. This is Venegas' second week in a row to garner the honor.
