Franklin

St. Louis, MO - The Griffins took the field for a doubleheader today against the Franklin Grizzly Bears at Shaw Park that didn't quite go their way. Both games ended in lopsided losses, but if there's one thing this team doesn't do, it's quit.
Game one started with high energy and plenty of hustle, but the opposing bats were on fire, launching hit after hit. Sam Foppe was in the circle this game. Our girls fought hard, made some solid plays, and even had a few moments of brilliance on the field. Unfortunately, the scoreboard didn't quite reflect the effort with a 14-3 loss.
Game two? More of the same. But despite the tough innings, our team kept the dugout loud, the high-fives coming, and the spirits up. Abby Alonzo made her pitching debut this season by taking over the circle in this game. Macy Brown kept the Griffins spirits alive with the first homerun of the season. The Griffins dropped the second game 10-2.
The Griffins will prepare for their next double-header on Wednesday, March 5. First pitch is set for 2:00 p.m.
