Softball Opens Conference Play with Sweep

BATESVILLE, Ark. – The Fontbonne University softball team swept Lyon College in their conference opener on the road. The Griffins shut them out 11-0 on game one followed by a 9-1 victory. The team improve to 7-14 on the season and 2-0 in SLIAC play.
Game one
By the Numbers
- Makenzie Howell had three hits, two runs, and one RBI.
- Grace Paez had three RBI, two hits, one homer, and one run.
- Abby Alonzo had one hit, one run, and four RBI.
- Ashley Carrow had one hit and scored three runs.
Hailey Kutz pitched the complete game and was credited with the win. She struck out six while allowing one hit.

- Makenzie Howell had one hit, one RBI, and two runs.
- Grace Paez had one hit, one run and two RBI.
- Jillian Mengel had one hit, one run, and three RBI.
- Madelyn Holtmeyer had one hit and two runs.
Sam Foppe pitched the complete game and took the win in the circle. She struck out two while allowing three hits and one run.
