Softball prepares for Spring Break games in Florida
St. Louis- After a cold and blistery beginning to the 2014 campaign, the Griffins are eager to head south to Orlando, Florida for the NTC Spring Games played at the National Training Center in Clermont.
The Griffins are hoping for sunshine and dry fields after consistently switching practice times and places due to this spring's weather. Despite the not-so-fun conditions, the Griffins have gotten off to a 5-2 start with quality wins over Lindenwood University (DII-St. Charles), Millikin University and the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. The Griffins have taken their two losses on the season in stride (Millikin and Rhodes), learning from their mistakes, and learning to adjust from a loss, preparing them for yet another run at post season play.
The Griffins play some quality opponents in a short time frame while in Florida and fans can listen in live with Tim Miller at www.collegecasts.com. We are videoing the games against North Central, Frostburg State, and Manchester on Thursday, March 20th, allowing fans more fun at home.
St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) play begins Tuesday, March 25th at Principia after Fontbonne returns home. The Griffins are hoping the leaving Florida with momentum will be the driving force to secure their fourth SLIAC crown in a row. Expectations are high this season with an outstanding group of leaders on the field, coached by a seasoned coaching staff.
Don't forget while your listening live to send in your texts to Tim Miller to give multiple shoutouts to your Griffins on the air!
