Men's Volleyball Ranked No. 15 In AVCA Preseason Coaches Poll
ST. LOUIS, Mo.—The AVCA released its Top 15 Preseason Coaches Poll and for the first time in program history the Fontbonne University men’s volleyball team is ranked coming in at No. 15.
ST. LOUIS, Mo.—The AVCA released its Top 15 Preseason Coaches Poll and for the first time in program history the Fontbonne University men's volleyball team is ranked coming in at No. 15.
Carthage holds the top spot with 19 first place votes and 313 points. They're followed by Springfield with two first place votes and 273 points. Dominican, Benedictine (Ill.), and Vassar round out the top-five.
Back in early December, the reigning MCVL Tournament Champions also claimed the top spot in the Preseason Poll totaling 64 points and eight of the nine first place votes.
Fontbonne looks to build off another impressive 2021 season going 19-3 overall and 15-1 in MCVL play. The team hosted the MCVL Tournament for the first time in program history and came away with the title knocking off Trine in straight sets and Mount Union in the championship game in four.
The Griffins get its season underway on January 28th when they'll visit Wisconsin Lutheran. Its home opener will be the Fontbonne Invitational starting on February 11th at 7 p.m., against Augustana.
