The Fontbonne University men's lacrosse team schattered several school records on Saturday defeating Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) 37-3. The Griffins improved to 8-4 overall and 4-2 in the Midwest Lacrosse Conference (MLC).
Fontbonne's 37 goals set a new school record for most goals in a game as well as the 34-goal margin of victory also set a record for biggest margin of victory. The Griffins also set a school record for shots in a game (75) and fewest goals allowed (3).
Individually, senior Peter Travis now holds the school record for most goals in a game (8) and is tied for most points (10). Senior Colin Benecke tied the school record for most assists in a game with six. Benecke had three goals and six assists as 12 Griffins in all recorded at least one goal.
The Griffins'eight wins currently ties a school record for most wins in a season. Fontbonne will try to break that record on Wednesday night as they travel to play Augustana College at 7:30 pm.
