St. Louis- The freshman forward from Crystal City, Mo. turned into a powerhouse last night, going 2-3 from the line, 3-4 beyond the arc, and 4-6 down low. DeGeare totaled 19 points and 13 rebounds (5 offensive; 8 defensive), driving the Griffins' to their first win of the season.
Fontbonne was on fire from three-point range last night. Senior Yada Demisse was 2-3 from long range and 4-5 overall on the field, totaling 10 points. Sophomore Blake Welch was 3-4 from three-point range and 5-6 overall totalling 14 points. Sophomore Jared Greenlee contributed defensively totaling 12 rebounds, with 10 defensive boards.
Overall, the Griffins shot 60.9% behind the arc, connecting on 14 of 23 attempts. Fontbonne held Blackburn to all single-digit statistics on the night.
