Griffins win final home game of the season

Feb. 15, 2012 - The Fontbonne University men's basketball beat Principia College last night in the final home game of the 2011-2012 season 82-62. The Griffins improved to 4-19 on the season and 3-12 in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC).

After a tight first half which saw the Griffins take a 38-36 lead into halftime, Fontbonne shot 57 percent in the second half to pull away. The Griffins forced 25 Panthers turnovers and held them to 35 percent shooting in the second half.

Five Griffins scored at least 10 points in the game led by sophomore Tyler Garner with a team-high 16. Sophomore Andrew Chism scored 14 points off the bench while junior John Reese had and junior Daniel Lisch and freshman Greg Gentry scored 10 apiece.

Fontbonne will conclude its 2011-2012 season on Feb. 21st against Webster University at 8 pm.
