Baseball Voted Third in SLIAC Preseason Poll

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Fontbonne University baseball team was voted to finish third in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) Preseason Coaches' Poll, announced the conference office this Thursday.

The Griffins concluded the 2022-23 season with a 25-16 overall record and 13-8 in conference play. Their season came to a close in the quarterfinals of the SLIAC Tournament.

The team returns 30 players and welcome 23 newcomers.

Fontbonne opens their season on Tuesday, Feb. 13 at home against Hannibal-LaGrange. First pitch is set for 1 p.m. Their schedule features 40 games with 18 at home. They begin conference play on Mar. 23 with a doubleheader at Westminster. Saturday, Mar. 30 with a doubleheader at Lyon. Game times are set for 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.

Gavin Kinworthy, Ty Kueper, and Colby Shivers were named to the SLIAC Baseball Preseason Watch List.
