Game Breakdown
The Griffins got on the board in the bottom of the first on an RBI sacrifice-fly from Braeden Dobbs that plated Colby Shivers.
In the third, the Griffins expanded on its advantage. Daniel Youngblood got things going with a one out single. He raced home on Dobbs' triple to left making it a 2-0 game. After a fly-out and a walk to Thomas Purschke, the Griffins led 4-0 after Reece Harris cleared the bases with a double to center.
The Engineers, though scored one in the fifth and three in the eighth to tie the game. However, in the home half of the eighth, the Griffins got the lead back.
Dobbs and Matt Helm started the inning off with consecutive walks. Three batters later, Dobbs was able to score on a passed ball giving Fontbonne a 5-4 lead. Tyson Wilson came on in the ninth and worked around a leadoff walk to secure the win for Fontbonne.
