Penrod, Lange Named SLIAC Hitter And Pitcher Of The Week

ST. LOUIS, Mo.—After leading the Griffins to a 3-2 record down in Florida, Jackson Penrod and Brett Lange were named SLIAC Hitter and Pitcher of the Week.

Penrod, hit .667 on the week, totaling three RBI and five runs scored. He also extended his hitting streak out to six and helped lift the Griffins team batting average from .243 to .298 in the five games. On the season, he's batting a team-high .457, with 21 hits, eight runs scored and six RBI.

Lange, meanwhile, continues to shine when called upon out of the pen. This past week, he tossed 6.1 innings, owned a 1.42 ERA and struck out nine. On the season, Lange is rolling right along with a 1.96 ERA in 18.1 innings and leads with 27 strikeouts.

The Griffins return home on Thursday for a doubleheader against Wisconsin-Platteville. First-pitch at 3 p.m.
