Fontbonne Hosts Final Lee McKinney Memorial Golf Tournament

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The Fontbonne University Athletics Department will be hosting their last Lee McKinney Memorial Golf Tournament on June 9.

The event will be held at Gateway National Golf Links in Madison, Illinois.

The tournament's registration will begin at 7 a.m., with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. Lunch and awards will follow at 1 p.m.

Lee McKinney, who's in the SLIAC, Fontbonne, and Missouri Sports Hall of Fame, was Fontbonne's Director of Athletics and Head Men's Basketball Coach for over 20 years.

During his time with Fontbonne, the department grew from three to 19 teams. He also served on several NCAA committees from Management Council to Financial Aid Committee, Playing and Practice Seasons Subcommittee, Strategic Planning and Finance Committee, Convention Planning Subcommittee and Nominating Committee.

He ended with over 800 career victories, guided the Griffins to five SLIAC Tournament Titles and four NCAA Division III Tournament Appearances.
