The 2016 season marks Coach Heater’s fifth year at the helm of Fontbonne's women’s volleyball program. After achieving double-digit wins in 2015 for the first time since 2007, Fontbonne women's volleyball went back to their roots. The Griffins made their 14th SLIAC Tournament appearance and first postseason berth since 2009. Fontbonne finished the regular season 11-7 in conference play, completely turning the program around from the season before. The Griffins fell to Greenville in the opening round of the tightest and most entertaining SLIAC Tournament in quite some time.
In 2014, Fontbonne finished 7-11 in SLIAC play and 13-18 overall. The Griffins only lost one starter to graduation, which proved well for the following season.
Coach Heater came to Fontbonne in 2012 for her first four-year college head coaching stint with four years experience as a head coach, most recently at Lewis and Clark Community College in Godfrey, Illinois. At Lewis and Clark, Heater led the program to the region's final four tournament twice for the first time in school history, and finished each season with 20-plus wins. Prior to her time at Lewis and Clark, Heater served as head coach at Southwestern Illinois College in Belleville, Illinois. During her previous experience, Heater coached five all-region players and 11 all-conference players.
In addition to her NJCAA experience, Coach Heater comes to Fontbonne with valuable NCAA Div. III experience. Coach Heater served as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Greenville College from 2006-2007. She also played her collegiate volleyball career at Greenville.
Coach Heater resides in Troy, Illinois with her husband John and their four kids John, Morgan, Kendall, and Ace.
