Women's Basketball at St. Pete's Classic Preview

TAMPA, Fla.—The Fontbonne University women's basketball team looks to halt its three game slide at the St. Pete's Classic at Eckerd College this week. On Wednesday, the Griffins take on Olivet at 6 p.m., followed by a 4 p.m., game on Thursday against Otterbein.

A Look At The Griffins

  • The Griffins fell 93-74 against Westminster this past Saturday.
  • Rylee Stafford led all scorers with a career-high 30 points on 10-of-22 shooting.
  • Paige Black contributed 17 and seven steals, while Riley Guffey and Sarah Schraut had 10 points each.

A Look At The Olivet College Comets

  • The Comets have won two out of three, including a 72-64 win over Calumet of St. Joseph.
  • In the victory, the comets shot 35.4 percent from the field and drained 10 3-pointers.
  • Shawnee Dame and Grace Clark tied with 19 points each.
  • On the season, the Comets are scoring 68.9 points and shooting 34.6 percent from the floor.
  • Defensively, the Comets are coming away with 12.9 steals per game.
  • In four games, Breauna Rivoli-Johnson leads the offense averaging 20.5 points per game.
  • Dame is the final player in double-figures putting up 12.7 per contest.

 

A Look At The Otterbein University Cardinals

  • The Cardinals have picked up two wins in a row after a 79-65 victory over Muskingum.
  • On the year, the Cardinals are averaging 70.1 points, shooting 41.3 percent from the floor, 40.1 percent from downtown, and averaging 14.4 assists per game.
  • Defensively, the stats are nearly identical, allowing 70.5 points, a 41.8 field goal percentage, a 40.0 3-point percentage, and 13.4 assists per game.
  • Dani Kissel will be a player to look out for as she's averaging a team-high 21.6 points and 5.3 rebounds per game.
  • Ali cartnal leads the team in the assists department with 4.1 per night, while scoring 19.1 points per game.
