Jalen Madison enters his first year as a Graduate Assistant Cross Country/Track and Field Coach at Fontbonne University.
Prior to joining Fontbonne, Madison was the acting Throws Coach at the University of Southern Indiana. He coached USI throwers to 23 Top 10 marks in indoor and outdoor throws, including three school records in the women’s weight throw, women’s discus and women’s hammer.
Before being apart of the USI coaching staff, Madison was a student-athlete at USI. There, he finished fifth in conference during his senior year in the discus and currently is the school record holder in that event.
He also ranks second all-time in the weight throw and hammer throw, along with ranking sixth in the indoor shot put and eighth in the outdoor shot put.
In 2017, Madison earned the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) James R. Spaulding Sportsmanship Award for Outdoor Track and Field.
He’s a graduate of USI with a Bachelor of Science in Sports Management with a concentration in Intercollegiate Athletics. While at Fontbonne, he’s working on a Master of Science in Management & Leadership.
Madison has a USATF Level I Coaching Certification and is currently working on a Strength and Conditioning Certification through NSCA and USTFCCCA.
