ST. LOUIS, Mo.—After picking up two key wins, the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) announced Blake Smugala and Drew Blair as the Men's Soccer Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week.
Smugala, a St. Louis, Mo., native, recorded four goals on the week, including netting both in the 2-1 (2OT) win against Webster in the regular season finale. The senior has tied his career-high with six goals and four assists on the year.
Blair, meanwhile, picks up the honor for the second time this season. In net, the freshman made seven saves in over 177:00 minutes of action, allowing him to pick up two wins.
The Griffins are currently in wait-and-see mode in hopes of punching a ticket to the SLIAC Tournament this week.
