Griffins Stand In 19th Place After Round One Of The Midwest Classic

GALENA, Ill.—The Fontbonne University men's golf team hit the course for the first time this year at the Midwest Region Classic. The Griffins currently sit in 19th place with 36-over par 324.

Carthage College holds the top spot with its 17-over par 305. Luther College is right behind them at 18-over par 306, while Lake Forest holds down third at 21-over par 309.

Individually, there's a three way tie atop the leaderboard at even-par. The trio of Joe Fewer (Luther College), Zach Hentrich (Edgewood) and Joe Vath (Carthage), all shot a 72.

Paul Henderson had a strong first day for the Griffins after he turned in his scorecard with a 4-over par 76 and that's good enough for a 12th place tie.

Will Pruden is the next FBU golfer on the leaderboard with his 10-over par 82, while Sam Kaminski and Matt Rapasardo ended the day with an 11-over par 83. Satchel Conroy, meanwhile, hit his way to a 15-over par 87.
