Jackson, Miss. - Fontbonne ran into a tough LaGrange baseball team to conclude their Mississippi stay. LaGrange defeated the Griffins 9-2 and have only lost one of nine games to start the season.
LaGrange led 3-0 before Ethan Borrowman doubled with two outs to bring in his first run batted in of the season. Pinch hitter Nick Kenny singled to right to bring in Patrick Shuff to give the Griffins their second run by the end of the seventh inning.
The Griffins went through 20 players including four pitchers in the loss. It was a tough third inning where LaGrange scored six runs on four hits and an error including a two-run home run.
Fontbonne will conclude their opening weekend at Rhodes College on Sunday, February 19th before returning home for three games next weekend.
