Baseball advances to SLIAC Conference Tournament

St. Louis- Fontbonne has advanced to the 2013 St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference as the #4 seed.

The Griffins have posted a 18-22 overall record and finished regular season conference play with a 14-10 record.

Fontbonne will open tournament play against the #1 seed, Webster, at Glik Park in Highland, IL on Thursday. First pitch is slated for 2pm. Webster has only lost one conference game so far this season.

The Griffins look to avenge the Gorloks, having previously fallen 11-4, 9-0 and 12-4.

Fontbonne has four of the SLIAC's top ten hitters: Sean Fisher (.385), Brett Freud (.364), Jesse Schott (.359) and Rob Berger (.364). The Griffins will look to them to lead the team as well as shortstop Berger to lead the defense.
